modxSDK β a development environment inside MODX
modxSDK was published in 2013 as an experimental development environment for MODX Revolution.
At an early stage, the component was still very raw and mostly allowed working with files directly from the MODX Manager. However, the vector itself was characteristic: developing a complex project requires not only a CMS interface for content editing, but also proper tools for working with source code.
In the context of the entire ecosystem, modxSDK occupied an infrastructural level alongside Console, modxRepository, and packaging tools. That is, it was no longer about a separate website, but about creating a more cohesive developer environment around MODX.
The component did not become a central part of further architecture, yet it clearly demonstrates the direction of search during that period: moving professional development beyond the standard model of "editing snippets and chunks in the admin panel".
modxSDK is part of the overall ecosystem of Fi1osof components. The official component card has been preserved in the MODX Extras catalog.
